What should a Christian do?

Where we look for answers to the problems we are faced with in this short life is at the heart of the issue for any Christian. Having a strong mentor that one can trust is an imperative. Relying on others is difficult for most people. Many of us want to figure things out for ourselves. We think that we are knowledgeable enough to come up with the right answers, and here is where we make mistakes. Having a strong person to go to in times of trouble will allow us to use higher reasoning powers times 2 or even more. Just hearing ourselves, before others, can give us a greater perspective to view our unique situations, which usually turn out to be not so unique. Allowing a strong person to speak into our lives will also give us more strength, and hold us to follow through on that good advice.
This is a common approach to problems, yet there is a better way. Coming to God with our problems will remove us from the anxiety these problems create in our psyche. Turning to God allows us to see through His eyes what is at the heart of the problem, and how to deal with them In a Godly fashion. Turning to God in prayer will always settle our spirit so we may hear His spirit. And those answers may not come right away. Searching the scriptures will reprove our faults and lead us to Godliness in all we do.
The holy word of God speaks to our spirit in many ways, and a verse may speak in different ways at different times. Seeing ourselves in a Godly light will compel us to remain there and act out on His will. Having studied the word, we will be ready in any season to draw on God's strength. He is our strength, and He is the Word. Speaking scripture into our lives at any moment will remove us from the troubles of this world and allow us to overcome the temptations that lead to bad decisions, which lead us astray from His will, ultimately to sin.
Peter wrote "The beginning of sin is, I Want".
When pressed we may want to act outside God's plan if our flesh is in charge. The flesh wants what it wants, and until we can die to our sinful nature, our flesh will have control over all we do. We must put to death the deeds of the flesh. Turning to God will remove us from such temptations, and as we master our flesh, we will draw closer to Him. Master your flesh by denying the things of the flesh. Fasting is one of the best ways to accomplish this. Our bellies want to feel full. And at times we fill ourselves for reasons other than hunger. The comforting feeling of fullness can become a crutch. This is a temporary way to feel good, but we can become overly reliant on food. Denying ourselves food will take the flesh into submission. This is true for any luxury we lavish upon ourselves to feel good. Watching movies, or sports. Having a drink at the end of the day. Grabbing a smoke. Or popping some unnecessary RX. Our society allows for all this, and the idea that we can abuse these common things is problematic to all Christians.
Where do we find security? In a plate of spaghetti? In an after-work cordial? By sleeping in all day? When have you ever said "NO" to yourself? Saying no to things that are areas of comfort to us will give you strength when met with temptations of the world. If we can say no to seconds at the dinner table, we'll be able to say no to sin more readily. If we can say no to our flesh, we can turn more fully to God, and carry out His true will for our lives. He has such great plans for you. Get past the "sinning egregiously" and find out what real fruit looks like.
Praise God with your actions without ceasing, and he will bless you. Make your life a blessing to God's people, and He will bless you in the most profound of ways.
Be ready. Get into His Word daily. Confess the name Jesus before all mankind, and He will confess your name before His Father in Heaven. And......Fear not, for
The Savior IS Coming!!!!!
